CORE:  A novel approach to rejuvenating and re-strategizing life paths

The world is changing ever more rapidly, and we are bewildered by the cornucopia of possibilities, demands, and threats.  We lament how little time we have to nurture, water, and prune our tree of life; we swim through a sea of half-relationships, knowing full well that a deep connection is one of the most rewarding things in life, and we often feel that we sacrifice our own development on the altar of less valuable endeavours.  The urgent dominates the important. Finding our own creativity, optimism, resilience, and energy to positively engage the world is needed more than ever.

But how?

There are many approaches to this age-old question.

Some decide to cocoon or reduce the world to something manageable, others question the nature of reality and hide in relativism or nihilism dressed as a belief system, yet others align themselves with the dominant narrative to benefit from the proverbial safety in numbers.  These and many similar strategies are bypass operations rather than tackling the existential issues head-on.

What is CORE?

“CORE” can be summarised as a way of releasing and enabling the self-healing forces of the body.

This is achieved by focusing on and exploring the highest intensity themes in the present moment of the psyche. Rather than trying to analyse, understand root causes, or impose any framework, or look for particular patterns, we will instead follow the profound somatic wisdom of the mind-body when it is in a flow state.

Self-sensing, resonance (sensing others), creativity, and spontaneous rituals often take the place of more rational and teleological pathways.

CORE catalyses in the developmental dynamics that help you take the next step in your development.

Best to let some of our past alumni share their views:

"I’ve participated in many personal development workshops over the years, but this one stood out in a way that truly surprised me. Unlike the others, it touched something much deeper within me and left a lasting impression. The experience felt more authentic, more impactful, and somehow more aligned with where I am in my life right now. It wasn’t just informative—it was transformative."
CEO, Pharmaceutical Company

“I really appreciated being part of the CORE workshop. It challenged me to think about not just what I really wanted to achieve but more importantly, what was holding me back … and it was done in an informal, non-judgmental environment where I was willing and able to really explore the challenges I faced personally.”
Partner, Global Consulting Firm

“I've done a lot of personal work before, but nothing has been as transformative or powerful as this workshop. It didn’t just give me clarity on what I needed to do – it showed me exactly how to do it. No book, workshop, or retreat has come close to doing that.”
Managing Director, Global Legal Firm

“This session provided me with a clearer understanding of the conceptual and emotional barriers that have been holding me back from progressing in my next professional chapter. Unlike previous sessions, it fostered a genuine sense of camaraderie among participants, leading to the creation of a supportive and potentially valuable network.”
Global Events Director

“The sessions were really intense. Much more than I expected. However, it was necessary because the issues we were grappling with were very difficult. You can’t solve something unless you define it and face it. And the emotional parts are not easy to pin down. But the intensity works! I am glad I could participate.”
Not-for-profit, Senior Leader and Advisor

“Two days absolutely worth investing when important decisions need to be made. I felt challenged and inspired by this workshop - and motivated to get on with it”
Managing Director, Investment Banking

“I have been struggling with this decision for a long time, but this work helped me see the forest from the trees.  Sometimes the logical path is the wrong one, because the issue is not understanding the facts, but developing the will to do the right thing”
Chief Technology Officer, Global Financial Services Firm

“This was so intense.  Not at all what I expected, but my ritual will stay with me for a long time.  Thank you for a life-changing experience.”
Senior partner, Professional Services Firm

A little more on the background and approach[1]

This immersive session will help you explore and take a creative step in your life.  Together with others, you will nurture and evolve your self. Personal change, that is not forced upon us through a crisis, typically takes time.

What happens during the sessions

At the CORE workshop, you will be with other people who are also going through important changes in their work or personal lives. You'll be working on a specific theme you're facing, but at the same time, you'll be learning new ways of thinking, sensing, and acting.

The workshop will help you creatively explore the path ahead using clear thinking combined with a deeper understanding of your feelings and instincts. You will get individual coaching to help you directly, and you'll also get to learn from and share with others who are in similar situations.

The sessions are designed to be enjoyable and will give you new ideas and tools to move forward. Importantly, the workshop will help you make your new changes stick in your life and thus enable you to confidently take the next step on your own path.

Finally, many CORE workshop participants tell us that seeing someone change and contributing to that change is a profound experience that creates a trusted community that persists beyond the time of the workshop, with new connections and friendships formed that continue to help anchor the newly developed perspectives, decisions, and resulting change.

The outcome is that you will purposefully take a new step down your very own path in life. And every first step, confidently taken, is exhilarating.

Final thoughts

Trying to change for the sake of change, or for an outcome that is ultimately not important or is not yet on our radar screen, is close to impossible.  On the other hand, if we are hungry for change – however conflicted – and deeply feel its call, we have much energy to invest.  Thus, augmenting that which has the highest intensity on the personal path can hugely accelerate change.  Accessing our deeper motivation for change can powerfully shorten the ordinary change process that may take months or even years to materialize, to often less than an hour.  More importantly, if development is self-driven, the level of ownership of the solution and the courage to fully implement are at a maximum.

This method is partially developed together with renowned psychologist Dr. Peter Schellenbaum based on his psychoenergetics approach.  Relevant publications (in German): Heilung mit Spontanritualen; Nimm deine Couch und geh , 1992, ISBN 978-3-423-35081-5Other related approach is Focusing, developed by Eugene Gendlin and there are many other humanist psychological schools of thought (e.g., Gestalt therapy, Positive psychology) which share some aspects.  Our view, however, has been to remove most frameworks that these other approaches have and entirely focus on the self-generating, intuitive/sensing and empathic dynamics and pair these with the analytical, deductive, and willed aspects of our problem-solving capabilities.
